Workshop ContentThis workshop has been designed for participants with little to no experience in online data management or web mapping, and who are interested in free and easy-to-use tools for storing and sharing data. An introductory presentation will get you up to speed on the types of things that can can be done with Google Drive's tool set, as well as some basic concepts for wise data management. After this brief lecture you will follow an interactive exercise that will first introduce you to Google Earth Pro and several of its simple mapping options. You will then be introduced to Google Drive's cloud storage, with a tutorial for uploading, visualizing and sharing documents and data.  You will then learn how to make your own online maps that will be hosted by Google free of charge.

This course is the result of a collaborative effort between UC ANR IGIS Statewide Program, http://igis.ucanr.edu, the UC Berkeley, Geospatial Innovation Facility (GIF), http://gif.berkeley.edu, and the UC ANR Cooperative Extension office for Plumas and Sierra Counties, http://ucce-plumas-sierra.ucanr.edu/.
