Aquatic Invasive Species Mapper

Client(s): Leigh Johnson

Request: Build a survey and web mapping tool that will allow citizen scientists to report aquatic invasive species

Outcome: IGIS worked with the client to create a citizen science application that allows the participants to report the location of aquatic invasive species.  This report was built to allow for the saving of pictures with the location and other information.  The system will then notify researchers at the University of California and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife of new reports.  The researchers can then accept or decline the report.  After the report is accepted the reports are then viewable on a publicly accessible webmap.

The aquatic invasive species reporting tool can be viewed at: http://ucanr.maps.arcgis.com/apps/GeoForm/index.html?appid=ab788837ab2448059a66d5653d8bda51

The public map can be viewed at: http://geoportal.ucanr.edu/AIS_Public_Viewer/
