Staying abreast of science and technology developments is not merely a luxury in geospatial science, but an absolute necessity. To stay at the forefront of their research areas, ANR scientists need to stay proficient with the rapidly evolving technology, spatial sciences, new types of data, cloud-based computing, and data collection technologies. Training is part of the core business of IGIS, and through training we can create and solidify partnerships with universities and industry, help ANR’s volunteer programs to engage volunteers, and help tell ANR’s story through case studies.
IGIS is offers a variety of hands-on GIS, web mapping, data collection, and remote sensing training workshops virtually and in-person throughout California, typically on a year-round basis (see our list of offerings below). We also provide alternative educational efforts, such as educational videos, technical notes, blog posts, weekly office hours, and monthly drone chat meet-ups.
On our IGIS YouTube channel, you can find recordings of some of our most popular introductory core curriculum modules, including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Story Maps, ArcGIS Pro, Field Maps, and Pix4D Mapper, along with links in the video's descriptions for data to follow along with the hands-on exercises.
If you don’t see something on the list and would like to talk to us about customizing a workshop, please let us know.
